1 Year Guam-aversary

3•6•5

We have been on Guam for exactly one year! This time last year we arrived on Guam exhausted, anxious, jet lagged, and hangry (no food on 8-10hr flights & no restaursnts open in airports due to COVID). What a first year of marriage, military life, and living abroad! Never did we think we would start our life as “The Grigsbys” off overseas, but what an adventure it has been! Including trying new food, learning about different cultures, attempting to learn new languages, the beautiful ocean sunsets, Pauls trip to ER due Xmas light incident, my parents visiting for a Guam Thanksgiving, serving our local and military community as health care workers, making new friends, snorkeling (working on scuba) and our boonie babies!

We celebrated our one year Guam-aversary with going to the Chamorro Village Night Market! This is basically a mini carnival once a week with local vendors, food trucks, and kid friendly games. This has been closed due to COVID but was recently re-opened. We enjoyed a traditional fiesta BBQ plate plus mango and taro boba teas for dessert.

We have at least 2 more years on Guam and we are looking forward to more adventures and learning all this island has to teach us!
